Nourish Salts (inspired from Kruschen Salts)

Are you wondering, “where to buy Kruschen Salts in Australia?” or “if they are even still available?”

The brand is no longer available in Australia however Nourish Salts is!

Nourish Salts was created because we were getting a lot of requests for Kruschen Salts. This product however has now been discontinued and its big customer base has not been able to purchase it. We are unsure exactly why it was discontinued but we expect it’s possibly because it is just an old brand that doesn’t exist anymore (see history of Kruschen Salts below). 

Luckily at Nourish Health, we have a compounding laboratory and so have been able to recreate the formula. 

Uses of Nourish Salts

Nourish Salts is an alkalising blend of mineral salts that may assist in the following:

• Cleansing and detoxifying the body
• Digestion and keep regular bowel motions
• Muscles aches, pains, and cramping
• Increasing your dietary intake of iodine so may assist thyroid function
  • Important – if you have a thyroid condition we recommend you speak with our pharmacist before purchasing to ensure it is safe for you.
• Increasing the alkalinity in the body

Directions for use

Dissolve the contents of a QUARTER of a teaspoon in warm water and drink morning and night.

Cautions

If you have any medical conditions or are taking any medications, please consult your health practitioner before taking them.

If you are on a low-salt or sodium diet then it is most likely best to avoid taking this (unless advised by your doctor).

If you have high blood pressure, a heart condition, or a thyroid condition, we also recommend speaking with your doctor before starting.

Ingredients

Each 1/4 teaspoon (approx. 1g) contains:

Magnesium sulphate – 800mg

Sodium sulphate – 20mg

Sodium chloride – 100mg

Potassium chloride – 10mg

Potassium sulfate – 55mg

Potassium iodide – 0.01mg

Citric acid – 15mg

Storage

Store in a cool, dry place below 30ºC. Keep out of reach of children. Do not use if seal is broken. Product sold by weight not volume. Content may settle during transportation.

History of Kruschen Salts

Kruschen salts were first produced by an English company Griffiths Hughes and came to market in Australia back in 1920! It was very popular in the 20s and 30s as a therapeutically balanced electrolyte preparation to help aid in digestion and sluggishness. 

In 1960s it was heavily marketed and became very popular with the 55 years + age bracket thanks to it’s catchy slogan, “get that Kruschen feeling”. It was even quoted in a James Bond film, “He’s absolutely rejuvenated. He looked like that blasted man in the old Kruschen Salts advertisements”.
